If This Is Freedom, What Exactly Is Dictatorship?
by Jacob G. Hornberger
Let me see if I have this right. In the United States of America:
1. The president now has the unrestricted power to declare war against a country that has not attacked the United States, wreaking death and destruction on both sides of the conflict.

An aggressive new turn By
November 30, 2003An aggressive new turn
By Paul Craig Roberts
Are the consequences of the U.S. invasion of Iraq likely to be a secular, democratic Middle East and a victory over terrorism, as the Bush administration claims? Or has the Bush administration embarked on an adventure with unintended consequences beyond its imagination?

A Fly By Night President
November 29, 2003A Fly By Night President
by Paul Hein
Even the President’s harshest critics will have to admit that his secret Thanksgiving Day flight to Baghdad was a PR coup.
It was a script right out of Hollywood: a President literally sneaking out of his compound, past his own security people (does this raise questions of their competence?), traveling in an unmarked car, actually obeying traffic signals!!! – and arriving at the airport, where he surreptitiously boarded his aircraft, which, on a pretext of flying off for maintenance, flew him to Baghdad, observing radio silence, and without lights. Gosh!
